This fall, step back in time to the golden age of country music as Sweet Dreams: A Patsy Cline Tribute Show graces the stage at Myrtle's Fur Vault and Bar and Club David in downtown Sioux Falls. For three nights only, the unforgettable voice of one of country’s most beloved icons will be brought to life by local powerhouse Alex Newcomb Weiland on vocals, joined by the incomparable David Mercer on keyboard.

Meet Our Patsy Cline
Alex Newcomb-Weiland
Vocals
Music and theatre have always been at the heart of Alex’s life, shaped by a grandmother who performed as a professional clown and a childhood soundtrack of beloved vinyl musicals. She currently serves as the Production and Education Manager at The Premiere Playhouse in Sioux Falls—an opportunity she finds both meaningful and rewarding.
Alex has also worked with youth theatre programs such as Ephemeral Productions and continues to embrace the journey of self-discovery, nurturing both her artistic growth and professional development.

Meet The Sweet Dreams Trio
David Mercer
Keyboard
David Mercer is a classically trained pianist, songwriter, and music theorist who composes across a wide spectrum, ranging from neo-romantic piano works and ambient pop to experimental electronica and singer-songwriter ballads.
From his home studio near McKennan Park in Sioux Falls, David teaches private piano lessons to about 50 students of all ages and skill levels. With a background that extends beyond piano into jazz, guitar, and drums, he brings a versatile approach to music education—adapting lessons to match each student’s goals and style.
Dalton Peterson
Upright Bass
Dalton Petersen is a bassist and educator who has performed with jazz combos, dance bands, jam bands, and orchestras across the region, sharing the stage with artists such as Allen Vizzutti, Jeff Coffin, and Shaun Johnson Big Band. He holds a Master’s in Music Education from Northern State University and is currently head orchestra director at Patrick Henry in Sioux Falls, SD. When he’s not teaching or performing, Dalton enjoys collecting vinyl and exploring music production.
Daniel Heier
Drums
Daniel Heier is a passionate drummer and educator based in Sioux Falls, SD. A versatile performer in jazz and commercial music, he has toured regionally, nationally, and internationally, and is a member of the JAS Quintet and the Jazz Curators. Daniel also serves with the 147th Army Band in Mitchell, SD.
As a dedicated teacher and clinician, Daniel’s students thrive in honor bands, jazz ensembles, worship teams, drumlines, and beyond. He has adjudicated and presented at festivals including Jazz on the Upper Great Plains, the South Dakota Middle School All State Band, and numerous schools across the region.
